Sickness Affinity Group have been collecting zines on the topic since 2021, and now want to make the collection available with kollektivbibliotek and Casino (according to their main interest on Mutual Aid and collective healthcare).
Join us for a collaborative session together with members of SAG and kollektivbibliothek to organise and catalogue the collection, which will be held at Casino, so will be accesible there during the kollektivbibliothek sessions in the future. The catalog will be accesible on our Inventare page

El pasado Domingo 6 de julio estuvimos conversando junto a Max E. Jaramillo, autor del libro Pobres porque quieren sobre un amplio espectro de cuestiones relacionadas con las narrativas meritocráticas, las trampas aspiracionales, el mito del talento, la economía antifascista, los lenguajes colonizados, los problemas de vivienda, la migración y las cadenas globales de cuidados, la colectivización frente a la individualización del tiempo de vida o el trabajo asalariado entre otros. Fue un encuentro nutrido en aportes e ideas con las que nos gustaría seguir hilvanando futuros encuentros o reflexiones. El libro ya se encuentra entre nuestros fondos disponible para préstamo.
Aquí os dejamos el audio del encuentro como documento de archivo y por si alguien quiere rescatar alguna idea para reflexiones posteriores o compartirlo con alguien que no pudo acudir.

El libro trata de hacer una serie de críticas para desmontar las narrativas que justifican las desigualdades en nuestras sociedades. El libro se sustenta también en la divulgación que Max lleva haciendo desde hace años desde el proyecto Gatitos Contra la Desigualdad, además de su trabajo como académico y activista. Si bien el libro se basa en su estudio en México, encontramos muchas resonancias en nuestro contexto Berlines y nos parece interesante abordarlo entrecruzándolo con las experiencias acá. Temas como la precariedad, la segregación educativa, el acceso a la vivienda, la racialización, el género, o la cultura del ascenso social y la ética del trabajo atraviesan éste análisis, desmontando la lectura neoliberal y meritocrática de la desigualdad. Se trata de pensar qué hace que donde hay abundancia haya también situaciones extremas de carestía y qué hacemos frente a ello.
La Kollektivbibliothek & Plakatarchiv es una colección autogestionada con una amplia gama de materiales impresos sobre historia, análisis político y movimientos sociales entre otros. Los idiomas principales de la biblioteca son el alemán, el inglés y el español, aunque también contamos con literatura en otros idiomas. Como biblioteca viva, nuestra intención es servir de herramienta colectiva para la imaginación política. Proporcionar materiales para la lectura, el debate y la creación. Junto con Casino, lanzamos este experimento de cooperación en el que el Kollektivbibliothek tiene un dia fijo en ese espacio (jueves de 13 a 17h) en el que puedes venir a conocernos, catalogar con nosotras, planear actividades y por supuesto suscribirte y tomar libros prestados. Estamos generando un catálogo online para dar acceso a nuestros fondos.
La idea de esta presentación es que sea parte de una serie de actividades que den a conocer nuestros fondos para el uso colectivo, que abran espacios de debate e intercambio en diferentes lenguas, y que sean un espacio también de encuentro político y lúdico.
Esperamos contar con vuestra presencia.
Tanto el kollektivbibilothek como Casino son proyectos autogestionados. La actividad es gratuita. Si te tomas un cafe o una cerveza, estas apoyando a la supervivencia del espacio Casino, y por tanto a las posibilidades futuras que éste abre. Como Kollektivbibliothek pasaremos un bote de donación que irá destinado a una familia en Gaza.

[EN] A month ago, we started meeting every Thursday at the Casino. We are very happy. It’s a time when we get together to have a coffee, plan how to better organize the library, share information, meet people who come to us because they read in the Casino newsletter that we’re here… Ideas and plans have emerged and, above all, there’s a sense of continuity, of being more open to the world and to new things happening. Although it is still a very short experience, its potential is already clear, and we wanted to share it.
We have a collection of over 600 books already catalogued online that you can consult, and we will continue to expand the catalog to give access to the rest of our collection. We have plans in this regard and will share them shortly. But today we wanted to share something beautiful that has happened.
Every Thursday, as we say, we receive visits from friends and strangers, contributions and questions, and all of them are equally valuable. Among them, yesterday, Thursday, May 22, Stefan came to see us. He had heard about us through the Casino channel and brought us some books that he shyly took out of his backpack. They are books from a publishing house he is part of, called Falschrum, which is here in Berlin and publishes beautiful books. He told us a little about each of them, books made slowly and with affection. Stefan is also the illustrator of one of them, “To a Syrian Prisoner of Conscience.” It is written in English by Gregory Carlock and was published in Berlin in 2019.
The others are books in German and Arabic, a curious and original binding of a text by Nora Amin, a double text edited jointly by Chaza Charafeddine and Karolina Golimowska, and a book of essays by Anna Herzer with drawings by Luca Beroldi. All of them are now part of our collection. Thank you for the books, thank you for the stories, thank you for coming to see us. This library is a living library because it is nourished by each and every moment and each and every person who, with every word or gesture, makes it possible.
[SP] ]Hace un mes que empezamos a reunirnos todos los jueves en el Casino. Estamos muy contentos. Es un momento en el que nos reunimos para tomar un café, planificar una mejor organización de la biblioteca, compartir información, conocer a gente que se acerca a nosotros porque ha leído en el boletín del Casino que estamos aquí…han surgido ideas y planes y sobre todo, la sensación de continuidad, de estar más abiertas al mundo y de que sucedan nuevas cosas.
Aunque todavía es una experiencia muy breve, ya se ve su potencial, y lo queríamos compartir. Tenemos un fondo de algo más de 600 libros catalogados ya online que puedes consultar, y seguiremos ampliando el catálogo para dar acceso a los fondos con los que contamos. Tenemos planes al respecto y los contaremos en breve. Pero hoy queríamos compartiros algo hermoso que ha sucedido. Cada jueves como decimos, recibimos visitas de amigas y desconocidas, colaboraciones y preguntas y todas ellas son igual de valiosas. De entre ellas, ayer jueves 22 de mayo, vino a vernos Stefan. Había sabido de nosotras por el canal de Casino y nos traía unos libros que tímidamente sacó de su mochila. Son libros de una editorial de la que hace parte, que se llama Falschrum que está aquí en Berlin y que edita libros hermosos. Nos contó un poco de cada uno de ellos, libros hechos despacio y con afecto. Stefan es además el ilustrador de uno de ellos, “To a Syrian Prisoner of Conscience”. Un libro escrito en ingles por Gregory Carlock y editado en Berlin en 2019. Los otros son libros en aleman y arabe, una curiosa y original encuadernación de un texto de Nora Amin, un doble texto editado conjunto de Chaza Charafeddine y Karolina Golimowska y un libro de ensayos de Anna Herzer con dibujos de Luca Beroldi.
Todos ellos forman parte ya de nuestros fondos. Gracias por los libros, gracias por las historias, por venir a vernos. Esta biblioteca, es una biblioteca viva porque se alimenta de cada uno de los momentos y cada una de las personas que , con cada palabra o gesto, la hacéis posible.

For some time now, the Kollektivbibliothek has been looking for a place to expand access to our book collection. As a living library, our intention is to serve as a collective tool for the political imagination. To provide materials for reading, debate and creation. Together with Casino, we are launching this experiment in which we can bring to life, through uncommanded cooperation, ideas and materials we have. We will be at Casino on Thursdays from 1pm to 6pm, cataloguing, lending books, explaining the project, updating our blog, thinking and preparing events, making plans or chatting over a coffee about what happens to us in this world. We like books and we like to conspire. Come and meet us.

US – Präsident Biden hat zu seiner Amtszeit keine humanere Grenzpolitik umgesetzt – auch wenn er mit diesem vollmundigen Wahlversprechen an die Macht kam. Der Zugang zum Asylrecht wurde mit der App „CBP One“ komplett digitalisiert und Flucht und Migration sollen schon weit vor der US – Grenze mit Asylanlaufstellen, sog. „Büros für Sichere Mobilität“, gestoppt werden.
Währenddessen versucht der texanische Gouverneur Greg Abott eine eigene Abschottungspolitik voranzutreiben. Bislang konnte die Einführung seiner Gesetzesinitiative SB4 in Texas von juristischer Seite noch blockiert werden, derzufolge alle Polizeieinheiten in Zukunft Aufenthaltspapiere verlangen und Festnahmen von Papierlosen vornehmen könnten. Mit dem Dronenüberwachungsprojekt Centinela betreibt er eine extra – föderale Grenzsicherung in Zusammenarbeit mit der Gouverneurin des mexikanischen Bundesstaates Chihuahua, Maru Campos.
Schon während der Pandemie stationierte Abott die texanische Nationalgarde mit der „Operation Lone Star“ an der Grenze. Im Dezember forderte Abott die US-Regierung heraus, als er der US Border Patrol in Eagle Pass den Zugang zur Grenze verweigerte. Dieses Jahr legte Abott im grossen Stil Klingendrahtfelder gegen Geflüchtete aus. Aber auch Präsident Biden will den Zugang zu Asyl an der Grenze mit Blick auf seine mögliche Wiederwahl im November nochmal drastisch einschränken.
In Mexiko wird ab Oktober die gewählte Präsidentin Claudia Sheinbaum die Politik ihres Vorgängers Andres Manuel Lopez Obredor (AMLO) weiterführen. Dieser brach in der Pandemie vor Trump ein und führt seitdem 1:1 die Regionalisierung der Abschottungspolitik der USA als Transitland durch. In den ersten Monaten dieses Jahres hat Mexiko unter dem Lob der USA doppelt so viele Geflüchtete festgenommen und abgeschoben wie 2023, 25% davon aus Venezuela.
Präsident AMLO hat die Migrationspolitik militarisiert und so auch die Migrationsbehörde INM. 2023 ereignete sich unter diesen Vorzeichen ein Massaker im Abschiebefängnis in Ciudad Juaréz, bei der die Beamten*innen des INM bei einem Brand nicht die Zelltüren öffneten. 40 Männer erstickten qualvoll, 27 überlebten mit schweren Gesundheitsfolgen. Das Verbrechen ereignete sich vor dem Hintergrund eines rassistischen Umschwungs in der (migrantischen) Grenzmetropole Ciudad Juaréz aufgrund der Zuspitzung der Situation an der auch unter Biden geschlossen bleibenden Grenze.
Die mutmaßlichen Schuldigen sitzen im Gefängnis, jedoch ohne Verfahren. Der Chef der Nationalen Migrationspolizei, Francisco Garduno, ist weiter im Amt und auf freiem Fuss und hat sogar versucht sich aus dem Fall freizukaufen. Mexikanische NGO versuchen den Fall vor den Interamerikanischen Menschenrechtsgerichtshof zu tragen. Ihm gehen ein Dutzend Brände in Abschiebegefängnissen in der Pandemie voraus, bei denen Geflüchtete gegen unmenschliche Haftbedingungen protestierten.

Ricardo ist 1986 in Dresden geboren. Er war unter anderem in der Grafitti-, HausbesetzerInnen- und Antifaszene aktiv. Dies führte zu ständiger staatlicher Repression und mehreren Knastaufenthalten. Als Schwarzer Mensch war er zusätzlich ständigem Rassismus ausgesetzt. Im Jahr 2014 entschloss er sich, um einer weiteren Haftstrafe zu entgehen, Deutschland zu verlassen. Er lebte bis zu seinem Tod im Jahr 2017 in Moçambique, anfangs in der Illegalität und später im Exil. Dieses Buch ist der Versuch von GefährtInnen und FreundInnen, eine Auseinandersetzung zum Thema Flucht, Exil und Illegalität zu führen
Am 1.März fand in Berlin im Bona Peiser Kulturzentrum die von der Kollektivbibliothek mitorganisierte Veranstaltung zu Georg Welzel mit dem Buchautor Raúl Riebenbauer statt. Die spärlich besuchte Veranstaltung wurde einen Tag späetr mit diesmal über 40 Besucher*innen in Cottbus, dem Geburtsort von Georg Welzel wiederholt.
Das Buch dazu in spanischer Sprache unter dem Titel „El Silencio de Georg“, 2021 in dem Verlag La Vorágine in Santander veröffentlicht, kann bei uns ausgeliehen werden.
